How we helped a financial services publisher overhaul the way it sells reference data
The client is a premier consultancy in financial services whose publications help clients value companies. The company’s publications business is highly valued in the market, but needed a new strategic direction and publishing approach. Customers were pasting the print tabular data into Excel.
Using outside-in and inside-out research, dPrism teed up four options (status quo, sell, invest, transform); client took dPrism’s advice to transform. dPrism helped the firm create a new subscription-based digital platform, designed around users’ workflows. New SaaS product was launched in February 2018.
Client moved $1 million in book sales to $3M in SaaS revenue within two years. Revenue is now based on recurring subscriptions, rather than one – time book sales. Users now have increased capabilities when using valuation tables and guides. dPrism is now helping the client with broader digital strategy.
